Formatting Tips for KNG Business Cards
using Microsoft Publisher


Each sheet contains eight business cards, 2"x3.5"each.
Their full bleed format allows you to print to the edge of the card.
1. Create a Business Card template
  Versions 97 & 98   Version 2.0
  A. Open Microsoft Publisher, select "Create New Publication".

B. Select "Blank Page" or "Blank Publicaton" tab.

C. Select "Full Page Layout".

D. Go to File/Page Setup, and set the page orientation to "Portrait".
  A. Open Microsoft Publisher, select "Create New Publication".

B. Select "Start from Scratch".

C. Select "Full Page Layout".

D. Go to File/Page Setup, and set the page orientation to "Portrait".
 
2. Set Margins
  Versions 97 & 98   Version 2.0
  A. Go to "Arrange/Layout Guides".

B. Set Margin Guides:
Left: .5"
Top: .75"
Right: .5"
Bottom: .75"

C. Set Grid Guides:
Columns: 2
Rows: 4
  A. Go to "Arrange/Layout Guides".

B. Set Margin Guides:
Left: .5"
Top: .75"
Right: .5"
Bottom: .75"

C. Set Grid Guides:
Columns: 2
Rows: 4
 
3. Save your File
  File/ Save As (give a file name)
 
4. Design your Business Cards
  A. Place text, photos & graphics, staying within your grid lines.

B. When finished, select all the objects and group them together.

C. Select the group, and copy.

D. Paste and move a copy into all the "cards" on your page.
 
5. Test Print
  Check your work by printing your design on plain paper. Hold the printed paper in front of the full color business card sheet to make sure the text aligns to your satisfaction.
 
6. Test on Business Card Paper
